They upgraded us to a suite when we arrived, let us have breakfast because we got to the hotel after the flight in the morning, the room was clean and comfortable, and the pools were huge.

The hotel itself is beautiful and the breakfast was genuinely good. Unfortunately, our experience did not come close to what we would expect from a 5-star hotel. When we arrived at the hotel in the evening, we were given the impression at reception that the restaurant was still open and that we would be able to have dinner there. After travelling all day, we went there expecting to sit down and eat, only to find out that there was no actual restaurant service available and only takeaway was being offered. This was a frustrating start to our stay, especially since we had specifically been led to believe otherwise. The portion of pasta at the Italian restaurant was also extremely small. To top it off, we practically had to take care of the payment ourselves, as despite being told that the bill would be brought to our table, it never arrived. The cleanliness of the room was another major disappointment. We found toenail clippings from previous guests in the room, as well as ants. Even more surprisingly, when we reported the ants to reception, they initially seemed reluctant to believe us. This is simply not the level of cleanliness or service we would expect from a hotel advertising itself as five-star. The room also did not have a minibar — only an empty refrigerator. During our entire one-week stay, we received one complimentary bottle of water. While these may seem like small details individually, they add up, and amenities and attention to detail are exactly what should distinguish a 5-star hotel from an average one. The pool area was also extremely crowded, to the point where finding space was difficult. Based on our experience, the hotel simply did not deliver the standard its 5-star rating suggests

The spot is great, right next to the beach and with a fantastic mountain view. In the morning everyone had already taken the pool sunbeds, so I headed straight to breakfast.
