The suite sat on the 2nd floor and there was no elevator, so you have to haul your suitcases up even though the staff offered help. The room was clean, yet mosquitoes were present (bug spray was provided in the room). Breakfast didn’t meet expectations; you could choose either fried rice or toast. Mosquitoes in the room and train noise were also an issue.

The staff were friendly and let me check in early. The room and bed were spacious for a comfortable stay. It’s close to a train passage, which can be noisy, and the balcony wasn’t great, but overall it’s pretty good value for money.

The place and staff were good to me, but the food at the hotel was really good.

The location: although Jakarta isn’t pedestrian‑friendly, the hotel is well situated, letting us explore colonial buildings and head to the shopping mall. It also made it quick to reach Gambir Station to continue our train journey westward (Bandung, Yogya, …). The pool was a refreshing break in a very pleasant setting. The breakfast was a bit slow to serve even though we had ordered the night before.
