The location worked perfectly for us. We cycled from Blenheim to Ward on the new “Whale Trail” – Picton to Kaikoura – which isn’t finished yet, April 2026 – returning the next day, about 74 km one way. You need to bring all the food and drink you need. There are no on‑site services and no local eateries.

We slept in a spacious, spotless room and the drive to a gorgeous beach was only a short trip; nearby we found two nice restaurants that were easy to reach.

The place was quiet and relaxing, but it was far from anything else and there were no nearby activities.

Everything was warm, comfortable and convenient, but the duvet was polyester so I brought my own; the sheets, however, were excellent.
