The location is great, the room is nice, and the old Portuguese building is lovely. But there was a plumbing issue that left us without hot water. We understand that occasional problems happen, but the hotel’s response was poor. The staff said they’d send a plumber, but the plumber they hired didn’t work on weekends. At one point they implied we were being fussy because they hadn’t received complaints from other guests. We checked with two other guests who confirmed they had hot water. After two days of cold showers, we decided to cut our 5‑day stay short and move to another hotel.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding. The location couldn’t be better. We loved the historic charm of the house. The only issue was that we locked ourselves out once, but that was our fault and the charm of an old door ;-)

Great location and a lovely old building. The courtyard is pretty, with a nice plunge pool.
