Located less than a 10-minute drive from Reading town centre, The Lawn Hotel offers free private parking and a regular bus service stopping outside, connecting guests to the town centre in just 5 minutes. Each en-suite bedroom features original Victorian details, a TV, and tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel serves full English breakfasts made with fresh ingredients and offers free internet access throughout.

The room and bathroom were spacious, and the English breakfast was good. However, the clean towels for the rooms were left on the floor in the hallway as if they were dirty laundry.

I was moved to Parkside International Hotel by the staff because of major issues in my original room at The Lawn Hotel, making it impossible to sleep. Parkside International Hotel is clean, with very spacious rooms that have ensuite bathrooms, and the staff are helpful, on hand, and quick to address any questions or problems. The breakfast was tasty with generous portions. The hotel sits in a fairly safe, leafy part of Reading, with fast road connections and a bus stop on the main road. After checking out, I asked for a taxi and it arrived in less than 4 minutes. The only downside was that the shower water could have been a little warmer.

The hotel is excellent for getting into the city and easy to locate from the M4. It does feel a bit dated.

The staff were friendly, the location was good, and the car park was large. Nothing else.
