“Lovely owner with great communications”
The location was great, and the owner was very helpful, giving local tips on where to go and what to see. The room had no window, but it was a good size and very clean.
“This was a small oasis in the centre of Male which is a crazy busy place.”
The location is very central, the place is exceptionally clean, and the staff are first class. The lady at the front desk was incredibly helpful and did everything she could to assist us.
The room was lovely, a great spot to unwind, and the breakfast far outshined the usual toast, egg, and stale sausage. We were picked up from the airport for free and could start using the room around 9 am, which was perfect. The location was ideal, just a stone’s throw from the ferry terminal and Male’s main sights. The downside was the price of both the room and breakfast, which felt steep, and the room lacked a proper window—though in Male that’s a luxury anyway.
“Angel is the sweetest staff member at the hotel, who assisted us during our stay, especially with our early-morning flig”
Sala Boutique Hotel excels at welcoming guests and especially easing departures, thanks to its proximity to Velana International Airport. I really enjoyed the restaurant and the hotel room I stayed in, which had spotless facilities and a comfortable bed. The only drawback is that the shower toilet is a bit small, and it’s hard to shower without flooding the floor a bit because there’s no divider between the shower and the rest of the bathroom.
The staff were incredibly friendly and efficient, going above and beyond to help. The Wi‑Fi was marginal—slow and sometimes unstable—but given this island in the middle of the Indian Ocean, I’m still grateful that it worked at all!
