The location was amazing and the staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating, but I emailed the property before arriving to arrange a dive and received no reply, so I ended up booking through Volivoli.

It was everything I could ask for: a hidden gem in the north of the island with a stunning balcony view of the bay, a good room, a lovely hot shower, and staff who were very friendly and helpful. The food was great and very reasonable, especially the best vegetable curry I’ve ever had, and the complimentary breakfast was also very good. The pool was lovely, warm, and offered excellent value for the experience. I didn’t find anything really wrong; if I’m nitpicking, the pool area was a bit tired with only four sun lounges, but that didn’t bother us since we had the pool to ourselves. A film crew occupied most rooms while they filmed a TV programme, so the hotel was very quiet most of the time. The complimentary sunset cruise was cancelled because of a fuel increase, and the billed hula‑hula dancers didn’t show, presumably because most guests were busy filming.

The breakfast was great, and the portions were huge, which suited my partner and me since we’re big eaters; perhaps the quantity and price could be adjusted.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was good, the room was clean, the bed very comfortable, ice hot water in the shower, beautiful sea views from the villa.
