Close to the beach and quiet, yet the place was extremely dirty and mouldy with a severe mosquito problem, the air‑con didn’t work, and the first night was awful—so we left the next day to avoid the no‑refund policy. The pool was stagnant and gross, and the nightly rate was very high for what was offered, especially considering the photos that show breakfast.

The location is ideal, about 200 m from the beach and a short walk to the small warong facing the ocean. Unfortunately the establishment looks abandoned, which is disappointing.

The view was gorgeous, the pool looked great and the rooms felt spacious. Breakfast could be ordered and was a classic Bali style – eggs any way you like with toast, or a Balinese set, plus coffee/tea/fresh juice; nothing fancy but tasty and decent. While you ate, you could watch the pool and the sea, which was really nice. The beach was only a few minutes’ walk away, super chill, with plenty of beach and lounge bars nearby. Even though Canggu is pretty touristy, this spot felt quiet and relaxed, and I liked that it wasn’t smack in the centre. If you head the other way from the beach you’ll also find plenty of cafés and restaurants. The only drawback was that my room had two single beds; I would have preferred one large bed, maybe they had one in another room but I forgot to ask. Also the bathroom sink was leaking – not a huge issue for me but something that needs fixing.

The location was perfect for surfing at the river mouth and the staff were amazing and kind. The rooms were huge and comfortable. I really wish they’d invest some money to bring it back to how it used to be; I don’t think anything has been done since it opened. It wasn’t a problem for us, and we’ll still come back.

The staff were friendly and the breakfast was very good, but my room was infested with ants.
