I fell in love with the pousada – every corner holds a surprise and it’s simply gorgeous. The bed is a real treat and I loved the little hand‑towel touch. Breakfast was plentiful (my husband made the most of it), there’s parking, a great location, solid cleanliness, and a reading room stocked with books in several languages plus games. The restaurant opens at night and there are several cozy nooks for sipping wine. I’m allergic to cats and there were three on the property (one was a guest), yet they didn’t disturb my stay nor trigger a reaction, which shows how clean the place is despite my sensitivity. Breakfast options for gluten‑free and lactose‑free diets were limited.
The whole inn was designed to blend with the natural surroundings. The restaurant is superb and the service is outstanding. We had several days of heavy rain that kept us inside, so staying in Vilangelim saved the trip—we enjoyed the local amenities and relaxed with great meals and a variety of drinks.
