I was traveling solo for a week at GuestMar and felt right at home almost instantly. The vibe was very family‑like and welcoming. The room was small but cozy and personalized. Breakfast was fantastic, and there were free teas, coffees, and snacks throughout the day. The kitchen was spotless, fully equipped, and a real comfort. There were reading materials, beach umbrellas, and towels. Other guests were friendly. I can’t recommend GuestMar enough! Big thanks to Joao & the team for a great stay! I’ll be back. Olhao as a city also impressed me—quiet, narrow streets, fishing town feel, nice cafés, fresh sea air. It’s not just a tourist spot but everyday Portuguese life. The great part: from there you can easily reach all of the Sandalgarve by public transport without needing a rental car. A taxi from the airport takes 15 minutes (€15). The only downside was the kitchen music getting on my nerves after a few days, and the barking dogs in the neighboring building.
