I didn’t have breakfast, which might have been better to try, but the overall atmosphere felt welcoming. I noticed that other guests lacked respect for cultural norms, especially regarding Onsen rules, and some foreign temp staff also showed carelessness in respecting the culture, which was disappointing.

The location is good and the woman at the counter is nice and friendly. The Onsen room is freezing, yet the onsen itself is scaldingly hot, making it hard to bathe; this might be for locals who prefer scalding hot onsens. The room is small, has no fridge, and no water dispenser. Some other guests were rowdy, and a man vomited in the woman’s toilet.

The staff were lovely, and the cat Poru added to the charm. The location is perfect—central next to the terminal, ski hire, and main street. A dry room for snow gear was handy, and the onsen was perfect. Discounts for snow gear were great too. The mattresses were pretty stiff, especially after skiing, but everything else was great.

The onsen was excellent; we booked just before peak season and always had it to ourselves. The hotel’s location is ideal—just a short walk to a supermarket, laundry, restaurants, gear rentals, and more. The onsite parking is tiny, fitting only 4‑5 cars, but there’s a large free public lot a few hundred meters away; it’s fine when the weather’s good, but during a snowstorm like ours it’s a different story. Also, the room isn’t cleaned daily.
