We were greeted warmly by this sweet family’s home, savored tasty homemade dishes, and even enjoyed the house to ourselves; they guided our day‑trip planning flawlessly, making the two days truly amazing—highly recommend for an authentic Japanese experience.

This historic tea farm, run by the generations of Sakyoen owners, feels like a hidden countryside gem surrounded by tea fields, offering tours of their processing area; if your stay lines up with one of the three yearly harvests, you can try picking tea (we missed it by a few days). Throughout, premium tea is always on hand and the meals are hearty, home‑cooked Japanese comfort food; though the hosts speak limited English, they put great effort into guest care and communication never posed a problem.
