“A comfortable and wonderful stay near the Volcanoes National Park headquarters”
This unassuming lodge has staff that are truly exceptional and helpful. Our room was equipped with electric blankets and plenty of thick blankets to keep us warm on cold evenings, and we could even set up a fireplace in the room. The hot water pressure for showers was strong. The food was plentiful and delicious. After each trek at Volcanoes National Park, our shoes were cleaned very well. The late checkout, granted because we had a morning trek, was much appreciated. The only suggestion for an already lovely stay is to replace the old furniture—such as the cupboards in the toilet, the shelves, and the writing table in the room—to improve the room’s appearance.
My stay was a mixed bag - the staff were truly excellent and the location couldn't be beat, but the food fell a bit short of my expectations, although it was reasonably priced. Overall, it was a decent experience, but with some room for improvement in the culinary department. The team's friendliness and the hotel's prime location made up for the lackluster meals.
“Besøg udenfor regntid”
The staff were wonderfully friendly and authentic, the bamboo forest was beautiful and the cabins had charm. The place felt cold and damp, and the electricity cut out at night, so the only way to get warmth was to light the fireplace. I wouldn’t recommend visiting when it’s rainy.
“Perfect”
I had a rather disappointing experience overall, despite a few bright spots - the staff were exceptional and it's clear that Ben runs a tight ship. Unfortunately, this wasn't enough to redeem the rest of my stay, which left me underwhelmed. The excellent service and management made me wish the rest of my visit had lived up to that standard.
