The location is great, a bit “old school” but quiet and far from the bustle of Vegas, with a bonus view of Colorado. The city is a small jewel of calm amid the casino bling‑bling. Grab breakfast at the hotel restaurant—it’s something! For the price, the room is basic but clean and adequate (no fridge).

I liked the restaurant on site. Kids were outside playing until 12 pm and the ball hit my door I had to get up and tell them to keep it down

The building is old, but it was fine to stay in, despite the many bugs coming from the river into the rooms.

The staff were all very helpful and friendly, but the low water level attracted a lot of flying bugs that seemed to take over rooms and the parking area. Bug zappers were only placed under the staircases; they should be positioned by the doors to keep the insects out of the rooms.

There was no breakfast. The hotel immediately debited my account for the deposit; a week later I still hadn’t been refunded, and they should have taken a hold instead of charging me. This is the first time I’ve seen that; I hope I wasn’t ripped off, otherwise I’d be paying four times the room rate. Disappointing.
