“Take your chances, I wouldn't again!”

Nothing ! The owner cancelled my booking 2 hrs before check in, even though it had been booked for months. He wasn't unpleasant, and offered us other accommodation, which I was forced to take , and he did provide another room for my friend who had last minute agreed to come , as the original room was a triple room . The location was over double the distance from where I needed to be . The rooms were cold , not hot water on arrival, very basic and diseveled, although the bedding was clean as were the towels provided. There were 3 items of cutlery in the dirty kitchen drawer. I didn't look any further. the skirting boards were all hanging off downstairs. There wasn't even a lock in the backdoor, just a hole where it should have been , and locked . So no emergency exit there ! The bedroom locks had been forced and one was difficult to lock . We had to wait 25 minutes to enter the property, I'd messaged saying we were 2 minutes away . after a further message we were given the external key code numbers. and told someone was coming to collect the extra £20 for the second room provided, they didn't turn up . I suggested we'd leave the money on the bed in the morning as we needed to leave in 5 minutes. The owner then asked what time we'd be home , I said I didn't know , but would be late . He asked if I could message when we were home after already being left for at least 40 minutes as he wasn't able to call in the morning. We got home around 12.45 am , I messaged.no reply. I received a message very early in the morning saying leave the money on the bed . Altogether, very unprofessional and none of it done

“It was a excellent stay I would definitely recommend to my friends and family if they were to stay hear to do so”

I liked that it had its own shower and toilet. I didn’t hate anything about the property

The place feels like home, the host was welcoming, accommodated my late booking and even later check‑in time. The bedding and decor in the room were a bit dated, but the room smelled fresh, was comfortable, and had nice clean carpets. The top of the stairs was poorly lit, there was no sign outside showing you had arrived at the right place, and clearer instructions were needed for dropping the key in the morning.

We didn’t stay. The kitchen and outside of the property were filthy, and we didn’t feel comfortable with the check‑in service.

It’s cheap and cheerful for a quick good night’s sleep. One of the rooms was in the attic, so you have to climb two flights of stairs to reach the kitchen. The staff did a good job – they checked in with me after I thought I left a cosmetics bag behind. The place wasn’t clean; the bathroom had some dodgy brown staining on the wall that I didn’t dare touch. Because we were only here for a quick visit while in Alton Towers, there was no time to report issues, and communication with the staff was poor.
