“Liked the stay except kitchen getting locked.”
Clean, friendly staff, spacious for a family stay. Using the kitchen as part of the stay with no extra charge.
The surroundings are stunning. The caretaker was very helpful and the staff communicated well over the phone. The hot water didn’t work properly, the room was sometimes humid, and the blanket needed changing; its material was uncomfortable.
We didn’t use breakfast because we had to travel earlier. When we arrived, there was confusion about kitchen availability; it was locked and we were told we’d need to pay an additional 1000 Rs to access it. It was crazy – how can families stay in a house without kitchen access? Eventually the concerned party agreed to let us use the kitchen. This should not happen again.
The guy running the place worked hard to sort everything out and was genuinely kind. The house sits deep in nature. Still, because he didn’t speak English, a few hiccups happened. It’s ideal for people with cars or bikes, but for us who took a taxi it was trickier. The first village is reachable by tuk‑tuk, and Munnar is about a 45‑minute drive on a very busy road. The property feels fairly new but wasn’t very clean; we found stained sheets and towels. I think the price is a bit steep for the overall service.
