The 19th-century hotel, on the 3rd floor with elevator access, features original large windows and beamed ceilings. Air-conditioned, soundproofed rooms offer TVs, fridges, and free Wi-Fi. A continental breakfast with fresh fruit and croissants is served until 10:00. The Uffizi Art Gallery and Santa Maria Novella Station are nearby.

The hotel had a slight age to it, yet the stay and breakfast were good. The bathroom emitted an unpleasant odor, as if there was a plumbing trap problem.

The location could not have been better; we walked to everything. Breakfast was perfect for us, and since we’re not huge on breakfast, we had no complaints. The room was a good size and made us feel very comfortable. I really can’t come up with anything negative.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, especially Simone at reception. The room wasn’t ready when we arrived, but because we were early we waited in reception for a short while. The rooms are modern, unlike the rest of the hotel which needs updating. Reception and other areas are very dated. The breakfast room is functional, with pastries, yoghurt, fruit salad, breads, and some cooked options like scrambled eggs; everything is self‑serve. Rooms are very clean and serviced. The location is excellent, a 2‑minute walk to Duomo. For a city‑break hotel that doesn’t cost the earth, I would recommend it. The communal areas are very dated, which doesn’t reflect the room we had.
