Crown House keeps offering great value for money accommodation in Oxford – a very good, large room with a decent shower at a reasonable price of about £90 a night. My room had a microwave and a fridge, but no cutlery or plates, so I had to buy those from the nearby Tesco. I stayed for 10 days and wanted to eat in my room, and a few more pillows would have been nice, but overall no real complaints.

The room was a good size and clean, but the position was not ideal. A loud venue next door and violence heard in the middle of the night woke us and was horrible. Car parking was terrible; I parked for 5 minutes to get my bags out and was fined. I paid too much for the place in its location.
