Coffee House

The room sits on the edge of a densely planted coffee plantation, and a walk through the garden is fantastic; breakfast is good and the staff friendly. We weren’t prepared for our arrival— the lady said she hadn’t checked the bookings and mentioned we would get an upgrade, but the room still needed to be ready (no problem). In the end we received the booked room. At check‑in she said the room had had bathroom issues that were now fixed, but that was not true: the toilet was leaking, and the shower ran lukewarm or cold every evening.

“Una atenció excepcional”

The staff were super friendly—Mrs. Hermida, Mario, and his wife were always around to help. Their cooking was amazing, especially the banana pancakes that had us licking our fingers. Breakfasts were tasty, and they gave us great local tips right from the start. The place is tiny, but everything you need is just 200 m away, and Santa Elena is a 10‑minute drive with plenty of life. The mattresses were a bit soft, so don’t expect luxury, but the personal touch was top‑notch.

Both Mrs. Hermida and the whole coffee‑house crew made the stay unforgettable. The house looks exactly like the photos—surrounded by nature and animals, a real treat that we’ll definitely repeat if we return to Costa Rica. Dinner was fantastic, 100 % recommended.

A cozy little house on a beautiful coffee plantation with a super sweet, welcoming host. The view was amazing, and she shared her fruit harvest with us, making the laundry smell fresh. She brews great coffee, and we even took a few bags home. The mattresses were a bit hard for us, and there was some wind that made creaking noises, waking us up occasionally. Getting there really requires a 4x4.

This was a real coup de cœur—an authentic rural getaway with a family that grows and roasts their own coffee. Meals were lovingly prepared, the family was attentive and always smiling, and there were little trails to wander in the plantation both day and night. We’d recommend it 400 %. The only downside was that the kitchen didn’t match the quality of the room.
