The Showa‑era retro vibe felt nostalgic, the proprietress was beautiful, and the meals—complete with Ise lobster—were plentiful, varied, and tasty enough to make my stomach burst, all for a great price; I even got a free 24‑hour parking ticket for Toba. The bathroom only offered shampoo, conditioner and body soap, with no facial skincare, leaving my face feeling tight.

The dishes were lavish and abundant, and the rooftop onsen felt wonderful. The only problem was that the smoking area was outside and chilly, and I think a designated indoor smoking room would have been better.

The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made up for the fact that I didn't book dinner in advance. I wish I'd seen the menu on their website before booking, as it looked amazing and I would've opted for the meal-included option. The hotel itself seemed old, but it was surprisingly well-maintained and clean, with no sign of mold.

The hotel staff were really helpful and went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. The location was great, but the room itself was a bit small and the bed was a bit too firm for my liking. Overall, it was a decent value for the price, but I wouldn't say it was the best value in the area.
