“Ein Hotel für Gruppenreisen und Hundebesitzer”

The hotel has a lot of charm in its details, but the surrounding gardens feel a bit neglected. The room was clean and roomy, and the food was good. Having the train stop right at the hotel is a huge plus, though the nearby street is unfortunately very traffic‑heavy. The serving staff did their best within their limits to satisfy guests. As a couple, we felt uncomfortable amid bus crowds and many dog owners at breakfast and dinner, even though there were plenty of rooms; a quiet, pre‑reserved dog‑free dining area for solo travelers would have been nice.

The staff were friendly and the food was good, but the hotel is clearly aging and the price‑performance ratio is outrageous – single rooms cost 221,00 €/night!

“Perfekter Ausgangspunkt für unsere Tagesausflüge nach Maria Zell, Naturpark Ötscher und Melk.”

The breakfast spread was huge, letting me fry my own eggs or make a ham‑and‑eggs dish, always fresh and with no waste; the fruit yoghurt with Dirndl (cornelian cherry) jam was delicious and the cereal selection for muesli was massive, and the Maria Zeller railway stop is right in front of the hotel.

“nie wieder !”

Title: Disappointing stay – issues were ignored. Rating: ⭐ (1 out of 5 stars). We stayed from 11.05 to 12.05 as part of a motorcycle tour. Our stay was far from relaxing. At check‑in we discovered there was no hot water in the room, and the heating was completely off, which was extremely uncomfortable with an outside temperature of only 8 °C. We informed the owner that evening, and she promised to fix it. The next morning, still no hot water – shower impossible, and the heater stayed off all night. The handling of our complaint at checkout was especially disappointing: when we asked for a price concession (suggesting we only pay 18 € for breakfast), the owner categorically refused. Bottom line: problems can happen, but the way they dealt with legitimate complaints was absolutely unprofessional. We will definitely not return.

“Liegt ideal an der Mariazellerbahn und am Pielachtaler Pilgerweg”

Breakfast was really good, and the restaurant also serves tasty food. The shower and toilet flush didn’t work very well.
