“Struttura chiusa”
We found out at 19:30 last night that the property was closed for work, so we had to stay at a nearby hotel (Lakshmis Hotel). The owner didn’t warn us, and when we reached out he said he takes no responsibility.
“Fijn, rustig hotel op loopafstand van de hoofdstraat”
A clean and pleasant hotel with very nice and helpful staff. It’s just a short steep walk of 5–10 minutes from the main street. Even at night, a mother and her 16‑year‑old daughter felt safe. There was no lockbox, something we usually appreciate, but I don’t think it’s necessary. I’d go back. Carrying luggage up the stairs was a bit heavy, but luckily there’s a tuk‑tuk.
“Great place for a very low price.”
The place was beautiful, perched on a hill, very near the town and station. The guy who served us was very nice and obliging. Breakfast was great, especially the pancakes. The balcony was under repair, so we couldn’t use it. 😢
“Nach der Baustelle sicher wieder besser!”
The breakfast was tasty and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The accommodation sits on a mountain, but it’s currently being renovated, meaning 8 hours of construction noise and no way to use the balcony, which was why we chose this place. The carpeted floors weren’t our cup of tea. We were the last guests before they shut down completely for the renovation, which should make things better afterward. When we asked, they gave us a small discount.
A very enjoyable stay with a private terrace and great view, close to the center yet very quiet. The young couple running the place were lovely. We got a super‑full and delicious breakfast, and on the last day we were given a picnic because we had to catch an early train to Kandy. Highly recommended. Just be fit because it’s a steep walk to get there; walking down is more pleasant. Bring a light at night because some parts of the road are dark.
