The only thing worth mentioning was that the hotel sits in the city centre. The room felt filthy, and at night the street noise was brutal—especially on the Oxford half‑weekend when trucks loaded and unloaded all night, rattling the windows on the 3rd floor. I had asked the front desk well ahead of time for a late check‑out, and they had agreed before my stay. When I returned at 11:50 am (the agreed late checkout was 12 pm) a cleaner was already in the room and the front desk acted as if the 12 pm agreement never existed, leaving my bags outside without any apology.

The bedroom was spotless and the location was perfect. Saying I didn’t like it would be inaccurate; the first walk‑in felt a bit scruffy, but our bedroom was clean and the location was absolutely spot on. Maybe a mirror in the bathroom and a couple of teaspoons would help.

The spot is great for a quick Oxford visit, right near the sights and a bunch of restaurants, but the beds feel too soft and saggy.

The reception staff were welcoming and helpful when I couldn’t make the earlier arrival time; the bed sheets and pillow were clean and comfortable, giving me energy at wake‑up, and the bathroom and shower were tidy and well‑maintained. I couldn’t finish work because there was no desk or chair for my computer, and a thicker blackout curtain that fully blocks outside light would be nice; some street noise, especially from moving vehicles, still comes through.
