I booked a single room and privacy was well respected; the room was clean and had a blanket, and even though I have insomnia, I slept soundly like at home – it was very easy to sleep. At night I could hear insects, but the other rooms were almost silent, which was the best. The toilet, shower room, and washbasin were unbelievably clean. Paying 4950 yen for this is unbelievable. If you’re coming to Wajima, you must stay here.

It was simple, well organized overall, and comfortable. However, at night there was noise: a guest in the room next door kept moving between the entrance and the room until about 11:30 pm, making sounds like unpacking or dismantling, and there was no one at the front desk. Because it was nighttime, I hesitated to call, which made me somewhat sleep‑deprived.

The place is conveniently located no matter where you head, and I even got a free ticket for the local hot springs. It’s new and clean, and there’s a ramen shop inside, so I didn’t have to hunt for a place to eat. The downside was that construction meant the shared areas were gone—since it’s a dormitory style, I couldn’t watch TV or find a spot to chat or grab a midnight snack, so it felt like a hotel only for sleeping (maybe it’ll fix once the work’s done). I had to trust that the sheets and pillowcases were washed, but they were full of wrinkles; I’ve only ever had crisp sheets at a hotel, so that was a shock.
