The room and the breakfast the next morning were great, and host Karina kept me in the loop, but the noise from the new premises next door started around 6‑7 pm and persisted until the 2 am curfew at Diversion Bar & Kitchen. Karina told us about it and even offered a refund, saying it had affected her business since the neighbour got a licence. The owner and licence holders apparently want people to sleep in the accommodation and see how you’re supposed to sleep. She was right—I slept in bits, and the next day’s half‑marathon wasn’t ideal; it was a real shame because the room was very nice and comfortable, but the noise was the biggest problem.

The presentation is lovely, the room comfortable, tea and snacks are provided, and the breakfast menu is sent and set outside the room at a convenient time—very nice. It was a bit noisy near the town centre, but that was the night of the Manchester football derby.
