The 100‑year‑old house in the countryside, surrounded by other charming homes, was very clean and quiet, and the landlady was delightful. However, there was no nearby dinner spot, so you need to eat beforehand or bring your own food; we should have checked the location more closely.

This is probably the best place I stayed during my trip to Japan; the house is very pretty, spotlessly clean, and very welcoming. Sanae San is the kindest and most generous host, and it’s moments like these that make a trip unforgettable. The accommodation is well positioned—just a short walk from the train station, though a bit outside the town. I hope to return!

I arrived at night and the location was hard to find, but the owner came out to the street and guided me. The fridge had bottled water and tea, which was a nice touch, and the owner was gentle and helpful. Because it was a hot summer day, a single fan wasn’t enough and my child and I woke up several times. The house only had a living room for meals, so when I went in to eat I found people already sleeping, making the meal awkward. If there were heating and cooling, I’d stay again.
