“Incredible view, food, staff and experience!”

The view was amazing, the building and rooms were excellent, spotless, and had every amenity we needed. The Sri Lankan cuisine was especially delightful. The staff were very attentive, went out of their way to ensure a great stay, even loaned us cash when we had none and bought us items that weren’t in stock. I have no real negatives, maybe adding some activities or games to the shared area would be nice.

We stayed at Lord’s Haputale and the room was beautifully designed and furnished; the hotel was spotless and well kept. The food was very good and we ate many meals there. The staff were well trained, and the manager was exceptional—she personally helped us and gave useful tips for our excursions. Haputale is near many attractions, so there’s always something to do. The only drawback is that the hotel sits in a residential area with a nearby mosque; the call to prayer rings several times a day and can be heard clearly even with the windows closed.

I stayed three nights and we were on stages 12 & 13 of The Pekoe out of Haputale, so that worked well. The views were great and the pool was nice. The food ordering and service were a bit chaotic, vegetarian options were lacking, and breakfast was overly complicated—should be self‑serve. They overused plastic straws and drink bottles. There was no fridge in the room; a communal fridge at the entrance would have been better than using the main kitchen fridge.

The setting was amazing, with a breathtaking view of the mountains and tea plantations. The room itself was beautiful and comfortable, and the breakfast was both varied and delicious. We also enjoyed the pool, which was great for relaxing and taking in the scenery. The only downside was the room’s soundproofing, which could use improvement. The hotel sits atop a hill, so you have to climb a bit to get there, but the view more than makes up for it!

We stopped at Lord’s Haputale on our way from Mirissa to Ella to see Lipton’s Seat. Our double room with a mountain view was beautiful, spacious, modern, clean, and tastefully decorated. The staff were exceptional and made our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. We used the pool briefly; the manager had part of it warmed up when we arrived. After swimming, we dined on the property and the prawn curry and chutney were excellent – the manager even gave us a pot of chutney to take home! Breakfast was also great, with fresh fruit and a choice of breakfast types; we chose the English breakfast. The property was quiet, being off the main road, except for brief morning and evening calls from the local mosque, which were short-lived. Overall, we loved staying at this beautiful, welcoming place. The bed felt a little firm for us, but we still slept well. We also missed having a minibar fridge.
