We stayed for one night to visit the elephant orphanage, which is just a 5‑minute walk away. The room was spacious, clean, with a large bed that included a very comfortable mosquito net on the sides. The managers were very kind, the breakfast was excellent, and there was air conditioning. Everything was very good. I liked everything.

The family that runs this place is so nice and gentle. The accommodation was a bit hidden but still in a great spot if you want to stay for one night before or after a safari. The room was really big and comfy with AC. You can walk to nearby restaurants, or eat there too. The breakfast was wonderful – thanks for the nice stay.

The room was peaceful, spacious, immaculately clean, and the air‑con and fan worked well; the staff were friendly though their English was minimal. We enjoyed a big Sri Lankan breakfast, but there was no milk for tea. When we changed our arrival time, the messages we sent were not read or understood, so we received a rude email asking why we were late and were questioned again upon arrival. The hotel is close to the Elephant orphanage, but there was nothing else nearby. We were dropped off by our driver at 3 pm and had nothing to do until we could rest in our room. A walk felt uncomfortable because the town was very local and, as two white ladies, we felt uneasy; there was also nothing particularly interesting to see. The staff helped us get a tuk‑tuk to Wild Asia Café (which we found on Google), where we were the only customers but the food was good and the staff friendly. Beware that there are steep steps up to the rooms with a wobbly wooden hand rail, and a leaky air‑con unit makes the midway steps wet. The owners helped carry our bags.
