Really pleasant customer service from time of arrival until time of departure. Staff all really attentive and could not do enough to help. The bar and serving of food or bar snacks could have been longer; arrived late and was unable to access these facilities.

The location was spot‑on for me because I was heading to the Barrow Hill Roundhouse railway heritage centre, only a five‑minute walk away. Everyone on the staff was helpful and friendly. I liked the food at both dinner and breakfast. There was plenty of parking and the garden/woodland setting kept me away from the busy road and it was quiet. However, the room and some areas felt a bit tired and could use a refresh. The floorboards creaked in the room and corridor, so at night you could hear people walking by loudly.

The bed was comfortable. Nothing else. Even the tv didn't work. Not good service or restaurant/bar facilities. For a Friday night stopping orders at 815pm is poor especially when there is no bar food. This is the 3rd time at the hotel and the facilities have gone down hugely. On asking if we could order room service to the bar/lounge area - no we could have it delivered to our room then take it to the bar only. What they had to offer was very limited to 4-5 sandwiches with crisps and salad. I had a sandwich, salad and crisps delivered to my room with no cutlery to eat the salad. The bathroom fan was broken and made a loud banging noise. I spoke to the hotel prior to our stay twice (on email and on the phone) regarding our rooms. I requested/paid for an executive room with double and 2 singles for my husband, myself, 12 year old and dog, plus a twin room for my adult children. On arrival we were given 'an upgrade' to a feature room with a double bed (no singles) in the courtyard (dog friendly) and room with a double bed and z-bed that my husband split into 2 singles, so he could stay with my 12 year old. I slept by myself with the dog. 🤯🫣😬 An absolute shambles. Last time they overbooked a wedding and threw us (a family of 5) into a small room with a double bed whereby 2 children slept on the floor and 1 in the bathtub

Reception staff were excellent. The March round building to get to the Annex (room 223) was a reasonable distance. Good job for not raining.
