The house is great, with a very good kitchen and nice bathrooms, not directly in the center of Vestmannaeyjabær but close to everything; we parked on the other side and used the ferry, though parking in front of the house is possible; after two nights it felt like staying at a parent’s home. I am 196 cm tall and some parts of the house were not suitable for that height, so if you’re similar, keep that in mind.

It was light and pleasant, we stayed with friendly people; it’s a bit on the outskirts, near the sea and golf course, and someone was on hand to respond quickly to questions.

Conveniently located near downtown, the shared facilities stayed very clean, check‑in was easy, and the functional kitchen lets you cook to save money; however, the beds were uncomfortable, a single shower for many guests made showering inconvenient, and the walls are thin so noise from other guests can disturb sleep.

Gaui, the owner of the guesthouse, was very nice; the location was good, and the house was clean, comfortable, and cosy.
