Hyakunagaran, an adult-only hotel on a cape surrounded by mountains and overlooking the ocean, features modern rooms with wired internet and ocean views. The hotel boasts traditional wooden decor, a tropical garden, and an open-air cave with a 7-metre stone Buddha statue. Guests can relax in one of six free-use private cottages with outdoor baths facing Mebaru Beach, 3 minutes away.

The location was great, but the staff were young and the food was unremarkable, giving a rather generic service overall.

The view of the sea was amazing, but you really need a car to get there. Some furniture looked a bit old and dirty, like the sofa with stains, and there was no gym. The food didn’t cater to specific diets and it was hard to find alternatives nearby.

The accommodation sits in a prime spot with a breathtaking view. The rooms are very spacious, decorated in a typical style with natural flowers, and the beds are extremely comfortable. The food is exceptional; I highly recommend booking a dinner! It was an unforgettable experience.

The room was stunning, the food outstanding, and the staff were very helpful. I would strongly recommend it for a 100 % traditional Japanese experience. However, if you opt for all‑inclusive, you must eat in the room. There is no pool, and the beach lacks a safety net to prevent accidental falls.
