The heating was very good, but there are no hanging clothes racks or drawers for storage.

The cabin has a great layout and is fully equipped in the middle of the forest, with plenty of firewood for heating. The best part is its location in nature near the Cautín River. The management shows constant care and attention. It’s a bit far from the town, but that’s not an issue if you’re driving.

The place was clean, reasonably quiet in the back room with an attached bathroom, and the bedding and towels were very nice; breakfast was okay and parking was convenient. However, the property didn’t feel welcoming. A roaring wood fireplace surrounded by comfortable sofas was present, yet no invitation was made to use that area, making it feel like the owners’ private space even though you have to pass through it to reach your room. The rooms were centrally heated only for about three hours each evening, and unless you stay in bed the rest of the time, there’s no way to stay warm, which caused me to catch a cold. I strongly recommend the owners install independent heaters in the rooms so guests can control the temperature, or at least open the heated living space to guests, as it currently seems reserved for the owners. Finally, after a hike on my last night, the owners had applied a strong oil‑based wood paint during the day that stank throughout the house, even permeating my room, making it very hard to sleep. I didn’t raise the issue then because it wouldn’t have changed anything, but I’m not happy with how low the priority of guest comfort appears to be at this property.

I stayed in a cozy cabin with an amazing view right next to the forest, and it was completely quiet.

The spot is in a great location, less than 10 minutes by car to Malalcahuello where you can buy groceries; the service is very personal and the room is very comfortable, plus they offer bikes for rent so you can easily explore the bike path between Manzanar and Malalcahuello.
