“Le chant des cigales, l‘amour de la danse et la chaleur des hôtes du Sud”
Anne Marie welcomed us warmly and talked about the area with such passion that she really embodied the place and its charms, including its quirks. She respected our need for privacy and kept the visits discreet. I was traveling alone, so it felt great to be greeted with such kindness. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the view was breathtaking, which sealed my good impression of the property. We felt right at home. Thanks, Anne Marie! The only downside was that the beautiful gardens aren’t meant for long‑term relaxation; the two rooms were occupied by guests heading to a dance festival, which took up most of our days. After our activities, we enjoyed the spacious terrace, but the outdoors weren’t designed for all‑day stays.
“Endroit idéal pour se détendre et visiter la région”
The location, the quiet, the amazing view, the tasteful décor, and especially the host’s warm welcome, availability, and kindness.
“Découverte d'une très belle region”
A fantastic stay at a beautiful place, well‑situated in nature, a short walk from Vaison‑la‑Romaine. The host was very friendly and offered great tips on must‑see local spots. The room was beautifully decorated, spotless, and I’ll definitely come back.
“Charmantes Privathaus mit zwei schön eingerichteten Zimmern. Traumhafter Blick auf die Weingegend!”
Anne‑Marie, a well‑educated and rather eccentric older lady, greeted us warmly (French was fine, and she also spoke decent English). The house sits a bit out of town, about 1 km from the nearest village on a slope, giving a stunning view of northern Vaucluse around Vaison‑la‑Romaine, including the Dentelles de Montmirail, Mont Ventoux, and the Rhône valley with its Côtes‑du‑Rhone vineyards. She lives on the property with her five cats and rents out two small, stylish rooms on the first floor. The garden is nicely laid out and there’s a generous terrace for daytime quiet. In May we used the peaceful travel season for several beautiful outings and appreciated all the tips she gave us over breakfast (Séguret, Crestet, Ouvèze Valley, and the Baronnies). The accommodation is ideal for guests who appreciate Provence’s culture and nature away from the big tourist hubs. Breakfast was lovingly prepared, but it was “typical French”: coffee/tea, baguette, jams, and fresh fruit—no big selection (we didn’t ask for eggs and always brought our own cheese). We understand that fresh baguettes weren’t always available due to the drive to the nearest bakery, and we were glad there was a toaster in the winter garden/ breakfast room, so we could still enjoy crisp bread.
A great first time in a guesthouse: the host was charming, helpful, and gave excellent local advice. The room had an exceptional view and comfortable bedding. We enjoyed the nature and the calm. Thanks for the welcoming and kind hospitality; we’ll return gladly. Nothing else to note.
