The location is great, quiet, the building is solid and clean. Getting there was a bit of a hassle, but that’s understandable since the town is still an open construction site. Nothing else to complain about.

Nestled in Assergi’s rolling hills, LA Stanzetta offers pet‑friendly rooms with private bathrooms, bidets, hairdryers, coffee machines, and free toiletries. A sun terrace, garden, and bicycle parking enhance outdoor enjoyment. Guests can book a paid airport shuttle. The property’s tiled floors, wardrobe, and TV provide comfort, while nearby attractions include Grotta a Male, Eremo di Santa Maria, and Abruzzo Airport.

The room was spacious and functional, with a microwave, coffee machine, and washing machine, and there was a nice terrace on the floor. However, several issues need attention: the Stanzetta isn’t listed on Google and the name isn’t on the building’s façade; the only way to find it is by address, but beware it’s in a pedestrian stairwell. My small Peugeot 208 barely fit to reach the parking spot next to the church, with steep, narrow alleys and tight turns. There are key lockers to access the accommodation, but no email or instructions were provided. The owner’s phone number on Booking is incorrect (who entered the listing details on Booking?). We had to rely on Booking’s customer service, which also couldn’t reach the owner immediately. After finally establishing contact (1 hour later), it was our fault—we didn’t receive any email or phone call. The breakfast consisted of pre‑packed biscuits and croissants, all industrial; no fresh items. It would be better to offer yogurt, cheese, eggs, ham, fruit, and juice in the fridge. The shower cabin glass was broken, which is dangerous and needs replacement.

It was an excellent experience for such a unique place. The managers were kind and helpful, and the building is beautiful in a town scarred by the earthquake. The breakfast could be improved because there’s no bar or shops nearby, and the bed is a bit short for someone 1.90 m tall.

We loved the sunny balcony where we ate dinner and breakfast under an umbrella—it’s such a cool spot. The washing machine was handy too. We reached the place on our motorcycle, but it was an adventure!

Assergi is a hidden gem in the Gran Sasso National Park, still rebuilding after the 2009 earthquake while preserving the original village. The terrace where we had breakfast was great. The towels weren’t fluffy, and in our room the Wi‑Fi didn’t arrive.
