Located on picturesque Lidingö island, 8 km from central Stockholm, Ariston Hotell offers free Wi-Fi, parking, and easy access to public transport. The former tram depot-turned-hotel features rooms with 32-inch flat-screen TVs, large beds, refrigerators, seating areas, and work desks. Some rooms include balconies, and guests enjoy discounted gym rates and proximity to Millesgården Art & Sculpture Museum and Hersyholm Bus Stop.

The area was somewhat cozy, but the rooms were unclean—carpet spots looked like spilled blood, we didn’t receive towels upon check‑in, and the check‑in/check‑out instructions were unclear; breakfast was okay but dry, a door was closed but let light through, the floor creaked everywhere and seemed on the verge of breaking, making it one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed at and the photos online were misleading.

The proximity, free parking, and decent breakfast were positives, but the steep stairs, dim rooms, and poor TV selection were negatives.

It was overpriced for what I received: broken furnishings like faulty electrical outlets, a toilet seat that didn’t stay on, dirty rooms, and a weak lighting setup with only a bedside lamp in a three‑bedroom suite and dim window light. I’d eat better at home on a weekday.
