The apartment was large, had everything I needed, and the air conditioning worked well. I did hear traffic noise. The parking spot wasn’t numbered, so it could be taken by other guests. One of the two apartments we booked six months ahead was already occupied when we arrived, so we were offered a different apartment for one day—by our opinion that was a worse place, one floor up. We asked to stay in the same apartment for that day and then receive compensation for the day we didn’t use. Although the owner verbally agreed, we still haven’t received that compensation a month after the trip.
The location was good. The host, Vanja, didn’t speak any English or Italian, only Croatian, and came across as rude, disorganized, and intrusive. The first night she put us in a different room than the one we had booked, only after I contacted the agency were we able to resolve it. During the stay the air conditioner stopped working; I talked to the agency and Vanja, who was very annoyed, called a technician to fix it.
The host was great, her warmth and friendliness made up for minor flaws. She appreciated that I could pick and eat ripe figs. When I forgot to close the bathroom door, I heard all the other guests farting into the bowl and other unwanted noises.
The terrace and view.
“Prva noć katastrofa, ostalo u redu.”
The location was fine, on the main road and 5‑10 minutes from the beach. There was a well‑kept path that let you reach the beach without traffic. The apartment we were moved into the second day after arrival matched the photos and had everything you need. The owner was very friendly and approachable. On the first day we were told that our apartment was still occupied because the guests who were supposed to leave had decided to stay another day because their child fell ill. So the owner put us in her own bedroom, which was hardly suitable for guests, full of stuff, smelling of cat urine, and with hidden junk behind the curtains. We had no choice but to leave our belongings there and spend as little time in the room as possible. When we returned, a cat greeted us and left fur all over the bedding. Also, if you’re reading this, you’ll have to sleep in the owner’s room and the toilet is on the other side of the house, so if you’re pressed for time at night you’ll have to make a round. It was a very uncomfortable first day, and we think the owner could have proactively solved the issue by providing another place or refunding that night because of the inconvenience and lack of seriousness we had to endure. We paid for three nights in the apartment but only got two nights and a half‑sleeping night in the owner’s room. We even considered sleeping on the terrace. The attached pictures are blurry because they were originally from a video.
