The shared terrace was very welcoming and I really liked it. The other guests in the nearby rooms were friendly and relaxed, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The villa itself is beautiful, and the people who had stayed there for several days seemed very satisfied, so I think I was just unlucky and don’t feel like giving a lower score. (Note that their rooms were much cheaper than mine, so their value for money was probably better). I stayed for 3 nights in the deluxe double room, and unfortunately I have to say that at the same price (or even lower) you can find much, much better. Paying for air conditioning that turns on but stays at 23°, and the hot water that was actually just lukewarm, and only a single drop came out. The worst thing I noticed upon arrival was the lack of cleanliness: the shower drain and sink were full of hair, the bathroom floor was completely covered in sand, and the sheets were stained and full of ants. When I told the owners, they addressed the bathroom issue but didn’t change my sheets even though they were clearly dirty white. The drain also emitted a strong foul smell. Finally, when the owner discovered that I had a boyfriend from Sri Lanka, he made it clear that he would never allow him to stay in the villa for any reason (without me asking). Westerners are fine, but locals absolutely not. The racism of Sri Lankans toward themselves is worse than anything else—very sad.

The location was great—close to the beach and many surf spots, a friendly family, and a nice rooftop terrace! The room was clean, and for the price everything was excellent. The room was quite dark, so if you’re a light sleeper, beware of the trains running right outside the back of the house.

The location was lovely with a beautiful garden and a nice common area; the owner was absolutely lovely and extremely welcoming. He rented me a moped while I was there and did some washing for me. Excellent value for money.
