A small, lovely hotel, a historic house beside the river and a stream; we felt like we were in an apartment without a kitchen but with its own onsen, everything was very authentic and exceptional. The dinner and breakfast were Japanese, but they were exceptional. The town is beautiful and not crowded, an unforgettable experience. The staff were very attentive. Everything was positive.

Breakfast was hearty and tasty. Dinner for three nights was all different, excellent preparation by the chef and honoring the local specialties. I loved how they used local herbs throughout their cuisine. After 8 pm, the whole place is dark. The lobby lights are all off and it’s a bit concerning, especially if there’s an emergency, as all staff leave the premises and no one is there except the guests. Doors get locked and safety can be an issue.
