Being by the lake with a back porch was pleasant. However, there was no TV, only AC in one bathroom, and bugs slipped through the doors—I had to spray bug spray around both exits.

The view was wonderful and the Annex was nice. There were plenty of activities for both adults and kids, and hydrangeas were everywhere! The Annex required stairs, so I’d stay again but would choose a chalet or cottage instead.

The place was VERY UNSAFE TO WALK AROUND! The sidewalks were uneven and the wooden steps were old and warped. Electrical outlets in the bedroom were so bad that cords plugged in would fall out. The water smelled like a sewer! The single sink had terrible water pressure and was impossible to use, making it impossible to use a coffee maker. The bedroom closet door wouldn’t open. Light bulbs blew out in the ceiling at the same time – something was wrong with that fixture! Outside was very unkept with weeds and everything looked worn out. I would never recommend staying here. We had a maintenance man come after two requests, and he seemed indifferent about fixing anything.

There was plenty to do on site—swimming, tennis, basketball, shuffleboard, a pool table, a playground for kids, and space to bring your cornhole boards. The lake views were beautiful. The communal kitchen and plenty of outdoor seating made it easy to relax or eat. The property was safe, private, and family‑friendly. I loved my stay and will return, but there was a strong sulfur smell in our bathroom whenever we used the shower or sink, likely from bacteria in older pipes, and the property has a septic tank. We played it safe and brushed our teeth with bottled water. The shower in our room drained very slowly, so the tub would fill up with water as soon as we turned it on. It’s an old property, so I understand, but if multiple people are taking back‑to‑back showers, it could pose an issue.

The place looked stunning with a ton of amenities, but the mattresses were uncomfortable and made sleep tough.
