The location and breakfast were good. We stayed in room 5 on the roof; the double bed was small and there was a sewer‑stack odor coming from the ensuite.

The location in Lavenham, the character of the house, and the staff’s kindness who did everything to make us comfortable were all great. The room was a bit small.

The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds and the people are friendly. Nothing else comes to mind.

This was outstanding especially the full English and the apple sausages and Kedgeree. The mains were a little lack lustre . It was surprising that there was not a real cooked chicken dish , the deconstructed bruschetta was strange and really frozen grapes really ? Pork and the steak were really good as were the prawns and the cheese in batter . You had no St emilion , two of our guests wanted prawns but were told that we would have to peel them so ordered something else . We later saw that the prawns were in fact peeled which was irritating. It was my birthday and I spent over £1000 , I would have thought that some small gesture of recognition of the occasion would have been appropriate. We gave your whiskies a lot of attention later and had a good time and the rooms were lovely

The place has great character, comfort, and friendly people. Nothing else comes to mind.
