After booking a room for a couple, the owner demanded a marriage certificate, which was never mentioned before booking, and the owner did not respond to my cancellation request.

We arrived late at night, and the guy at the front desk seemed completely out of the loop - didn't even know we had a booking. The place looked okay from the outside, but that's where it ended. The room was disgusting, super dirty and filthy, and we're not exactly luxury-seekers, but it was uninhabitable. Luckily, some locals helped us find a new hotel, but it's outrageous that they'd rent out a room in that condition.

Great location, but that's about it. The bathrooms were pretty basic and the rooms were really no-frills. Not exactly what I'd call a comfortable stay, but if you're looking for a cheap place to crash, I guess it's not terrible. Still, there's room for improvement.

We liked the location in Makale, and having a scooter made it easy to get around. That said, our room had some issues - there were a ton of ants in the bathroom and the shower head had a really weak stream. Not the worst stay ever, but a bit of a letdown.
