“Nie wieder Hotel Krone in Laupheim!”
At least there was warm water and the mattresses were good. The room and the whole building were very cold, and check‑in was problematic: a note at the main entrance told us to use the back entrance, where a door code was required but not provided. No indication of where to find the code. We eventually found it where the old reception used to be; there were about ten slips with room numbers and codes. After entering, we tried to take the elevator to our floor, but a sign read “Out of order!” So we, two older folks, partly with mobility issues, lugged our luggage up two flights on a steep staircase. The furnishings were very sparse. In the double room there was only one chair and one nightstand. The TV was about 30 by 50 cm and offered only three channels. We could only stay in the room fully dressed with jackets. Breakfast ran from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m.; we were just waking up! Throughout our stay we saw no staff member to help or answer questions.
