The shower handle in the bathroom was broken and not properly attached to the fixture, so I couldn’t get hot water; the hot tub on the exterior patio had dirty water and the jets didn’t work because of it; the room’s electrical outlets were missing covers; and the manager never returned any calls or messages in a timely manner.

The hotel itself looked gorgeous, but it felt like an abandoned place where staff were rarely seen; they only gave a phone number to call if you needed anything; there were no TVs or mini‑fridges in the rooms, which was a huge deal for us who wanted to watch movies on a rainy night; leftovers went to waste because there was no fridge or microwave to reheat them; the tavern was open only one evening during our stay and the staff there were rude and very overwhelmed.

The location was good, but no one was at the front desk, so I had to leave a sign to get the room cleaned; there were no towels and no one told us about the code; I had to call to check in; when I made the reservation and printed it, I expected breakfast, but there was none, which was very disappointing.

The location was within walking distance of all the events we attended, but if I’m being picky, the shower was very tiny and required some wiggling to get in; that’s all the room they have, so I understand.

The location, historic feel, cool rooms, hot showers, and friendly staff were great, but there was no elevator, so the staff had to help with luggage.
