I liked the plain breakfast with no frills, but the pillows were too stiff, the room was cramped and dim—more like a cramped attic—and the rain sounded like a loud drum.

The hosts were friendly, spoke several languages, and served a great breakfast in a gorgeous setting, and there was nothing to complain about.

We were greeted at the entrance with a welcome sign bearing our names, which made us feel truly welcomed. The guest room was elegantly arranged with separate bathrooms, toilets, and showers, and offered a superb view of the surrounding countryside and its medieval castle. In addition to a rich and complete breakfast, we chose the host dinner option, which turned out to be exceptional and unique. The meal was refined, with homemade delicate dishes, and the hosts were surprising and interesting; the conversation was engaging and made time fly, with flawless French peppered with Dutch onomatopoeia for added flair. A big thank you to Bert and Justina! The only downside was that we weren’t told beforehand that we would experience such a human connection that was both enriching and invigorating.
