“We really love Ulwazi Place and already miss the sweetness of the people who make it so special!”
The hotel is located in a very quiet, safe, and relaxed area, with a perfect little mall next door, which has a friendly little supermarket, a cafe with decent coffees, and some other shops and services. Nevertheless, we ate our dinners at the hotel, because the selection, atmosphere and food better than we hoped to find, if we struggled to go search for alternatives. We were never disappointed with the dinners at the restaurant. The breakfast buffet was always lovely and varied. We are not inclined to pastries, so we skipped over them, but the hot dishes, fruit, cheeses and beverages were all very good. One large coffee (with hot milk) is included. Other coffees, such as cappuccinos and lattes are extra, which we sometimes purchased, as we enjoy more than one large coffee in the morning. Otherwise, the service, was always great during meals, as was all the rest of the staff. We were treated (AGAIN!) to a great suite!!! We feel simultaneously like long lost family and like royalty every time we stay at this hotel: Everyone is extremely thoughtful, kind, and curious about us, our travels, and our desires. It is truly rare to find such a warm, sincere home away from home. We are already planning our next return to Kenya -- next time we will spend much more time at Ulwazi Place Hotel. I struggle to find anything that was less than perfect (and we are well accustomed to pampering from the better 4- and 5-star hotels around the world. I guess one minor nuisance, is that one toilet seat (in one of the toilets in our suite) would not stay up, which can frustrate men who stand up when using the toilet. Obviously, I am working hard to be picky. I could also suggest that a towel in the kitchen would be welcome, to dry hands, etc
