“Richtig schönes Hotel”

From the moment I stepped through the door I could feel how pleasant and family‑like the atmosphere is. My room was wonderfully spacious, bright, and absolutely spotless. It feels great when the sheets smell fresh, the bathroom shines, and you can immediately relax without worry. The mix of modern satellite TV, a handy personal fridge for cold drinks, and the bright, inviting décor made me look forward to returning to the room after each outing. The daily breakfast was a real highlight: the buffet selection is truly abundant and fresh, and the crowning glory was brunch outside on the sunny terrace. The first coffee tastes twice as good with the fresh spa‑town air! I also liked the service with ready‑to‑take lunch packs – just let them know the day before and you’re perfectly fed for the day. After walks along the Lahn to the traditional spa grounds, you don’t have to hunt for parking; you can park your car comfortably and free of charge on the private spots right at the house, which rounds out the stay completely stress‑free. The only downside is that there is no hotel pool, but that’s a perfect excuse to try the historic spa grounds and the beautiful baths right around the corner on the Lahn.

“Perfekt für Wandern, Golfen und Durchatmen”

When you want to clear your head again, this place is absolutely spot on. Everything feels like a friendly family-run business and extremely well kept. The rooms smell fresh, are neatly clean, and the elevator lifts you up after a long hike through the Nassau nature park without having to climb stairs. A real plus for golfers: the historic 18‑hole course is just a few minutes by car away. Even without a car you’re very flexible because the train station is almost right around the corner. A perfectly successful stay with a lot of heart!

Simple but adequate breakfast, with friendly service. The room was fine, spacious, with good beds and a clean bathroom. The hotel is a villa from the glory days of Bad Ems, but the glory is gone. It gives a dilapidated impression, especially on the outside. No paint, cheap touch‑up with plastic frames, a neglected garden. At arrival there was no staff, but the outer door was open and the room key was ready at the reception desk. The hotel felt totally abandoned and that gave an unsafe feeling. Even more, at the end of the afternoon workers were walking around, it was unclear whether they were guests or not, but they were. According to us the hotel is what the Germans call a “mechanic’s hotel.” We stored our bicycles in the hall, on the workers’ advice. The hotel is close to the station but a bit uphill. Not suitable for walking with luggage.

The heating worked. The hotel is being stripped and evidently only runs until the last cent is taken out. Necessary repairs are no longer carried out. The toilet lids are loose in the bathroom, the curtains are full of holes in front of the windows, and nails protrude from the decorative trim. Several rooms are permanently closed for fire‑safety reasons. The former swimming pool has apparently been out of operation for years – the pool is still three‑quarters filled with greenish water. Televisions are present but have no reception.

Der Internet Auftritt. Deshalb hatten wir gebucht. In Wirklichkeit ist das Hotel eine Katastrophe. Wir konnten allerdings sofort stornieren und hatten unser Geld gleich zurück. Kein Personal an der Rezeption. Es wirkte wie ausgestorben. Keine anderen Gäste zu sehen. Alles war alt, nichts gestrichen, draußen wuchert überall das Unkraut. Es wirkte wir ein Lost Place
