“Het was niet helemaal wat we er van verwacht hadden.”
Een prachtig hotel op een prachtige plaats, met zeer vriendelijk personeel; na verzoeken werden de beloften echter niet altijd goed waargemaakt.

The property was spacious and nice, and my room was clean, but the breakfast buffet should have been unlimited—particularly the eggs and breads—and the room should have had a fridge and at least a water dispenser.

The front desk was very friendly and helpful, yet the room felt outdated with threadbare hallway carpets, peeling paint, and a bathroom that needed a refresh.

We loved the history of the building and the location and beautiful grounds. The staff were wonderfully friendly. The room was nice and having a sofa in the room was great so we didn't have to always be sat on the bed. Good to have free Wi-fi. The breakfast the following morning was delicious with good quality produce and a lovely cold buffet as well. Communal areas lovely and clean and the gardens well maintained. Lovely to sit in the garden with a drink in the sun (albeit it, it didn't last long 😂). Our bathroom had quite a bit of mould on the ceiling and around some of the fixings. Lack of a main light in the room, although atmospheric with side lights made it difficult for getting ready the next morning, drying hair and putting on make up etc, can use the bathroom mirror but not for drying hair obviously. There was also a lack of spare plugs next to the armchair for laptop etc. The bed was soft so we did find ourselves rolling into each other quite a bit, beds are personal preference so for some this would be perfect, for me and my husband, it wasn't our preference but this isn't the hotel's fault. We also felt that the tea/coffee tray was a little bit light compared to other hotels we have stayed in in the past. Bar prices for drinks were very expensive, again compared to other hotel stays. A small choice of lager/ale/cider on tap, the one pale ale option was unavailable with no bottled alternatives which would have been beneficial
