Mekong Hotel

Unfortunately, my experience at this hotel was marred by a complete lack of communication from the staff. Not only did they seem completely unbothered by my presence, but they also seemed completely untrained in the basics of hospitality. The cleanliness was nonexistent, with dirty floors and trash-filled corridors. The breakfast was a disaster, with a single, unappetizing option and dirty tables. The staff seemed more interested in their phones than in providing any kind of service.

While the hotel's location on the Mekong River was lovely, and the bed was comfortable, my stay was marred by the unfriendly staff and a very basic breakfast. To make matters worse, I was charged extra for even the most basic beverages, which was a first for me in 45 years of travel. I had to negotiate with the manager just to get a cup of coffee without being charged extra. Overall, I was disappointed with my stay here.

I had a somewhat underwhelming experience during my stay at this hotel. Although it's located in a convenient area, the fact that it's situated on the Laos side made it difficult for me to access the main attractions. The hotel itself was decent, but it didn't quite live up to my expectations. Overall, it was an average stay that left me feeling somewhat disappointed.
