The breakfast was tasty, and the lodge was snug. It’s a short walk to the shuttle and Goryu ski resort, and there are plenty of good restaurants nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only downside is that it’s a bit far from the city centre, which might matter for some.

We stayed for 3 nights and our stay was comfortable, with western breakfast provided daily! Our room was a typical jp sized room, so we could just open our two luggage and have just a little leeway to move about in the room. We liked the convenience of having the toilet within the room which helped with managing the curfew/hot water hours. Staff (Monica) was friendly and accommodating, allowing us to check in slightly earlier when we reached and for letting us keep our luggage in the lodge past check out while we explored the rest of Hakuba. Thank you to the team again for our pleasant stay. Just need to note that the location was just slightly further down from the ski resort but still within a 10 mins walking distance (uphill)! And since it’s closest to Goryu, it’s slightly inaccessible to the rest of the town and driving will probably provide the best convenience to supplies/grocery runs. Also needed to note for those night owls, that hot water stops at 10, and curfew was at 1030, so visitors might need to plan your activities around these timings!!

We really enjoyed our time here and would recommend it to anyone staying in Goryu. Monica was amazing and very lovely, going out of her way to look after guests and make sure we were happy. The location is great—a short walk to the Goryu ski resort (Escal Plaza) where all the buses are. The room and shower were lovely and warm, and the common areas are nice for chatting with other guests and warming up by the fire after a day of skiing.

The lodge is cozy with friendly, helpful staff. Monica went above and beyond to store and send our ski bags and luggage after our stay. It’s in a peaceful, tree‑lined spot. Breakfast was a welcome inclusion, and the shared living space is comfortable and warm with some nice spots to relax at the end of the day. The location is tough without a car; we spent a lot getting around the valley over eight days and the walk up to Escal Plaza isn’t fun in ski boots. Using a locker and wearing snow or hiking boots would help. We saw many people struggling with skis and slipping on ice. The rooms really need more storage—our clothes had to stay in suitcases and be pushed under the bed for the week, and there was no hanging space. The beds and pillows were quite hard, and we had to ask for fresh towels because no mid‑clean was offered over the eight days.
