Batemans Bay Lodge

“I enjoyed my stay! And I may book into the Lodge next time I go to the Bay. The price is right!”

The location was great, with beautiful river scenery right behind it and very close in front. The motel restaurant was good and busy with happy families while I was there. The motel is literally only a 5‑minute walk to Woolworths and three other cafés/restaurants, and a few minutes further to the famous Boatshed fish‑and‑chips shop! The rooms show a few small signs of wear, like slightly peeling paint on the window frames and a bare patch inside the front door where the door lock had been replaced, but the suite was still neat and comfortable. Daily cleaning was good-ish rather than great; they were working hard during full occupancy in the school holidays. The tea cups on the refreshment tray were not properly washed on one day of my stay and were also not dried; it only took me a minute to fix that. The toilet was cleaned each day, but it was still obvious that the cleaner didn't brush all the way down into the S‑bend.

The check‑in and check‑out were smooth, and the location is convenient. The room itself was tidy and comfortable, but the walls were thin and I could hear the couple in the room next to mine.

“Disappointing but will try again in a few months”

Breakfast was good, the location was good, and the staff were helpful and caring, but the bathroom floor was not clean and the ceiling was covered in black mold and peeling paint; the new owner said they were halfway through repainting the rooms and installing exhaust fans in the bathrooms.
